Customer Presentation - Interviewing Techniques Across the Enterprise (OpenHire)

In this session attendees will have the opportunity to learn how to select interview questions that are more specific to the individual positions, thus creating interview guides that are more specific and more effective. The session will also cover utilizing the CQE function of OpenHire to help screen candidates more effectively by using some of the questions selected from the specific interview guides. Ultimately, this enables the recruiter to streamline their hiring process and can be quite the time saving technique if used properly.

Takeaways include interview guides recruiters can use to improve their current process in addition to a better understanding of how to use the CQE feature in OpenHire.

Bio: Katie Hillie joined SWBC in December 2001. As SWBC’s Human Resources Generalist, she is responsible for recruiting, addressing HR issues, communicating HR policies, investigating employee relation’s issues, processing and orienting new employees, and conducting exit interviews.

Katie has over 10 years of human resources experience. Prior to filling the role of HR Generalist, she was an HR Recruiter and an HR/Benefits Assistant for the company. She earned an Associate of Arts degree in business from the University of Phoenix in 2010 and will receive her Bachelor of Science degree in management in 2012. In addition, Katie is actively involved with many non-profit organizations, including Junior Achievement and United Way.

In her current role, Leslie Daley leads a team of 15 staff members that provide services and support to over 2800 employees. She has engaged the company in many new initiatives that have provided the company with the ability to customize and optimize processes. Leslie has partnered with various vendors that have allowed Lifestyle Family Fitness the ability to fully automate the lifecycle of each of the employees. In this session learn how a serious economic downturn coupled with an increase in the number of open job positions resulted in the UCAR being forced to come up with a more efficient way to review and sort candidate resumes.

Learn how Nancy's goal in reviewing and screening resumes, which includes full consideration of the candidate and a skepticism of shortcuts and software methods which seem to bypass a "human review" of a resume, resulted in a discovery of new ways to use the OpenHire SQE feature.

This presentation will focus on Nancy's realization that a problem existed and the development of a solution that would help her meet UCAR's goals and the road Nancy took to get there.

Bio: Nancy Wade is the employment administrator for the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) in Boulder, Colorado. Her day-to-day tasks include resume review for ~300 positions each year and interaction with – and training of – hiring supervisors. In 2010, she worked with the local workforce center to host a job fair for local Veterans. Nancy was responsible for implementing a new internship program for area high school students in 2010 and will be working on an internship for business and law students in 2011. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications in 2000 and a Master's degree in creative writing in 2009.

Citrix, the world's 5th largest SaaS provider, has over 6,000 employees in 37 countries around the world. One of the keys to our success is the ability to rapidly communicate our Citrix values to incoming employees while, at the same time, collecting all the information and forms we need for an immediate start on day 1. After our rollout of Red Carpet in 2009/2010 in the United States, we are now live in 8 countries in Asia/Pacific, including India, and are moving forward on our European implementations.

Learn how Citrix has put together a process for implementing country by country, how we have created a core new hire form and identified all the social media that each country needs to do for implementation. We will share some "secrets" to project management as well as "successes" with our integration to the RMS and to SAP.

Jill Kreissl is the Director of Recruiting at Cook Children's, where she is responsible for coordinating all employment functions; including identifying recruitment strategies, placing appropriate advertising, facilitating the hiring process from applicant screening and interviewing to on-boarding and new hire orientation. In addition to overseeing all recruiting efforts, she manages the workforce retention and turnover data & analysis. She received training in Behavioral Interviewing in 2001 and is certified as a Targeted Selection Facilitator from DDI (Development Dimensions International) since 2007.Mrs. Kreissl is experienced in helping hiring managers make better hiring decisions based on their selection process.
